The group of 15 delegates was made up of small business owner/managers who wanted to learn more about how Social Media can help them grow their businesses. The Social Media Overview Workshop included how to use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in a commercial environment, and showed delegates how they can maximize the business benefits from understanding and using Social Media.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP GETS POLITICAL SUPPORT
The Rt Hon Jason McCartney, MP for the Colne Valley, showed his support at the Kirklees Business Conference last Thursday for an innovative public and private sector partnership.
The link up between Kirklees Council and business consultancy and training provider, Strategy to Succeed Ltd, is aimed at delivering clear advice and support to businesses in the region.
Experienced Strategy to Succeed professionals were on hand at the Conference to deliver presentations on a range of business issues critical to success. Strategy to Succeed ran the ‘’Top Tips’’ clinic at the conference where attendees received advice on how to raise their public profile with effective public relations, how to use social media for marketing and selling, advice on accessing finance and techniques for motivating your workforce.
Jason McCartney, Mp for Colne Valley said “The collaboration between Strategy to Succeed and Kirklees Council is a good example of how the public and private sector can work together to support business growth in Kirklees”.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHELLE AT LIMEHOUSE TV!
Michelle Veasey of Limehouse TV was the winner of our business card draw from the Kirklees Business Conference and this week we were at Limehouses’ Halifax office to present Michelle with her prize, a bottle of Moet champagne. Michelle was delighted with her prize and introduced the Strategy to Succeed team to her colleagues at Limehouse.
TRAINING FUNDING ON OFFER FOR YORKSHIRE BUSINESSES
Yorkshire-basedconsultancy and training provider Strategyto Succeed has secured a contract from the Skills Enhancement Fund to deliver a comprehensive suite of management training for businesses in Yorkshire. Successful applicants can have their employee’s training costs subsidised by 50% for alltraining completed by the end of November.
The programmes, which include Strategic Skills, People Skills, Financial Skills, Sales Skills and Design Skills, will be delivered by Strategy to Succeed’s experienced team of associate consultants who are professionals in their field.
These 2-3 day workshop-based programmes all qualify for a 50% subsidy, making the cost to businesses £750 per person instead of the usual cost of £1500.
Director Colin Bateson commented “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and the associated support funding from the Skills Enhancement Fund, and are confident that our quality training will add real value to all participants’ businesses. Our programmes will empower employees, giving them new business skills that they will be able to apply within their own organisations”.
The training is to be held at venues in Leeds, Sheffield and York all of which are easily accessible and have free car parking. Businesses of any size are able to apply however there are some eligibility criteria.

TOP TIPS CRUCIAL TO YOUR BUSINESS
Strategy to Succeed consultancy have partnered with KIRKLEES Council to deliver top tips to business delegates at the Kirklees Business Conference on the 29th September at the Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield.
The council will join Strategy to Succeed to deliver a 45-minute clinic slot covering various topics crucial to business.
Top tips on social media will be delivered by Jayne Reid and will ask why firms should get involved, examine the LinkedIn network, connection strategy and the "power of group".
